About the Role

What You Can Expect

As a Utility Plant Operator I (UPO I) at our University of Iowa location, you will be responsible for safely and

efficiently operating power generation equipment that powers campus facilities, including the University Hospital. This

equipment includes, pumps, air compressors, conveying systems, fans, electric motors, ash conveying systems, control

valves, mobile equipment, and other industrial equipment.

Each day begins with a handoff from the previous shift to understand the current operating status of the plant and tasks
